Facilities and Maintenance Department

The Dinwiddie County Public Schools Facilities and Maintenance Department works every day to provide safe, functional, welcoming, and well-maintained schools and support facilities for students, staff, and the community.

As an essential part of the Department of Operations, Facilities and Maintenance supports every school and department across the division by maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, and critical building systems. The department’s work helps ensure that schools remain ready for teaching and learning and that employees have safe and effective environments in which to work.

Facilities and Maintenance staff focus on safety, reliability, responsiveness, fiscal responsibility, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. From routine repairs and inspections to major facility improvements, the department works behind the scenes to protect the division’s physical assets and support the long-term needs of Dinwiddie County Public Schools.

Department Leadership

The Facilities and Maintenance Department is led by Matt Hawkins and assisted by Leslie Tucker. Together, they coordinate the department’s daily operations, maintenance priorities, facility needs, and support services across the school division.
