Dinwiddie County Public Schools 2026– 2031 Comprehensive Plan
Rooted in Purpose
Rising with Excellence.
In Dinwiddie County Public Schools, we believe strong systems are built on a clear sense of purpose and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Rooted in community, grounded in care, and strengthened by the voices of our students, staff, families, and community, our 2026–2031 Strategic Plan reflects both who we are and where we are going. Every decision, every program, and every relationship is rooted in a shared commitment to ensure that each student in Dinwiddie is known, challenged, and supported. Together, grounded in our deep roots, there is no limit to how high our students can soar.

The purpose of the Dinwiddie County Public Schools (DCPS) strategic planning initiative was to establish a clear, coherent framework of long-term priorities and goals to guide the district’s work over the next five years. The plan is designed to inform district- and school-level decisions, align resources with student needs, and ensure continuous improvement in support of student success.
To support this work, DCPS partnered with DMGroup and engaged closely with the School Board, district leadership, staff, students, families, and community members. Together, these partners developed a strategic plan that is actionable, measurable, and grounded in the lived experiences of the Dinwiddie community.
The planning process focused on two core objectives:
1. Understanding current conditions and community priorities through a comprehensive needs assessment and inclusive stakeholder engagement process; and
2. Establishing a shared theory of action to clarify how district efforts and investments will drive meaningful, sustainable improvement.
Insights from this work informed the identification of priority areas and long-term goals that will guide DCPS through 2031.
